Windows 7 install

I have a oem Windows 7 serial from my desktop which is now a Windows 10. I have this old Dell Inspiron 1525 laptop and want to install Windows 7 onto it. Has Vista now. I downloaded a copy but still running into a problem of installing. It says something about a conflict with Avira. I deleted it. I probably should just dump the laptop, however any suggestions on doing anything with this?
