Tech needs work

I recently started an AI game as axis and made it into 1941. As I attacked Russia I noted my tech was very high, some items hitting 1944 shorty after the attack. I thought perhaps I had been extremely lucky, so I began a new game and just reached June 41 in that game.
As you can see in the screenshot, many techs have reached 1943 and are about to roll into 1944 in a month or two. Tech needs to be slowed way down in game. I haven't tested the allies, but I assume they will see similar results. Perhaps someone with a game near June 41 can post allied tech levels for comparison.

If you maximize your key tech, during 41 summer you could reach the max number.

This is pretty nuts. I think maybe you got a little lucky on the tech rolls because I've never managed to be more than a year ahead even by stacking research points. The earliest I've ever been able to finish off any tech with anybody is 1943.
Even so, this shouldn't be possible to do. There ought to be some sort of diminishing return mechanic on tech investments.

Maybe I was lucky, but increasing your tech level 4+every year you spend, is broken.
Funny, but as your tech is advanced, faster you research.

It's off. I have been working on it for the v4. I over adjusted from a bug before.

I just spent this morning testing this out, and something is very badly awry with tech now. It is advancing far faster than it did before.
The way it was before this latest patch I think was okay. You could get ahead, but nothing like this.
It's bonkers for everybody, btw. Not just any given country.

Before latest patch seemed correct yes.
Having '45 tech in '43 is okay (the tech you focus on!), because anyhow from actually having the technology to having your frontline troops equipped with it - that's a helluva of production that needs to be sank into it!
