As germany in 1943, wanted to place a few coastal defense works, however the game doesn't allow me to select where to place them, states no such area to be placed or something along those lines?

how do you place these things? I understand they cant go in a city or industrial zone if already there on a coast... what else are the requirements.

From what I can tell there are only a couple spots to put them the port on the coast of france to the left of Paris and up to the port that is propably dunkirk has a couple spots you dont put them on the beach but next to it.

oh, dang, i had bought like 25 of the things because of a large amount of Production left over one turn, guess im stuck with them then!

coastal fortifications can be placed on a non-beach hex that is next to a beach hex.... because it is a coastal fortification

the eligible hexes light up green when you select the coastal defense item from the deployment queue. There are 20+ eligible coastal hexes in France alone.

I've been so busy I forgot I lit them up in the game lol. Thanks for helping Essro

Ok so im not getting any lit up green area's anywhere, and once again when i select the coastal defense from deployment, nothing in lighting up green, and if i hit deploy, it once again states "no valid location to deploy unit"

Im currently fighting the allies just west of paris so I as the germans have paris to german coast line to arkhangelsk russia and nothing is lighting up green?

They finally are ready as their date says READY
You click the DEPLOY button
The hexes light up.

I tried it again in an unmodified 1939 scenario, i must have broken coastal defense units somehow, not sure exactly how. went back and tried in the 1939 base game works fine. sorry!
