In the "Iron Hand" scenario when my Kitchen missiles hit the communications bunker triggering a "special message" action the list of missions in the top left of the mission editor turns into a white square with a red x. Saving shutting the game down completely and restarting returns the window to normal.
The error is reproducible,and I have included a save of just before the kitchen missiles hit.
