ability for units to share entrenchment of a hex?

I was just wondering is it possible for this to be added into the game? One thing i always did like about War in the East was the ability to build defensive fortification lines in the rear, for winter quarters to retreat and hold the line at, so you build a defensive line with small engineer units in the rear, and if you begin getting pushed back you retreat to prepared fortifications prepped months in advance.

I think it would add something to the defense in depth approach as you can make a rolling retreat as a nation more effectively without immediately getting overrun. or maybe even if it could be added as a option for the game?

Also could we get the ability to change the entrenchment level past lvl 2 in the scenario editor to have the ability to create a heavy defense zone that may take 8+ turns to develop? So smaller increases per level of entrenchment but more levels. Just thinking of things i wanna be able to play with for my mod.

Rear forts - You can do that already abstractly in the game. You take a corps and split it into 3 divisions. Set the divs back for 3 turns where you want the defensive line. Now merge other divisions with it to form back into a corps.

Changing entrenchment - this is something already on my list but the issue is this is a corps level game not division level. If I allow a buy people would fill the map with them. If I give them a small engineer that breaks the simplicity and scale of the game. So I would have to find a suitable way around it.

I think to make them costing production, for established positions - like for coastal forts it is the better solution.
What troops dig in are local trenches and the like. And excess of forts & trenches can lead to WW1 warfare.
