So, I have this game going where I’m playing the Axis against the AI. I have conquered Egypt, Iraq and Persia, and managed to enter the Soviet Union through the Caucasus. But there is a constant problem with supply.
Supply sometimes get to the north of Iran but most of the time it doesn’t. Can’t really know why (all rail connections seem to be ok). It’s been for 2-3 months and it's still trying to fix the rail connections in Russia.

Can be that much of partisan activity even when I have a bunch of units in the area?

I am guessing you are operating far from home and I don't think there is direct rail connection from Egypt-Iraq-Persia then into Russia from the UnderBelly? Meaning that you will have poor supply without a more direct route from a railed supply source?

But sometimes the supply is ok in the Persian/USSR border (up to 7/8) and next turn is non-existent (ends 3 or 4 hexes before the border). I don't understand the reason why it keeps fluctuating between having supply and not having it.

The rails have the damaged crosses because of the scorch earth rule in Russia. I believe they repair 2 per turn. Taking Baku and holding it will solve your supply problem. It's a supply source. That's what I did. I couldn't supply my troops either until I took it. I notice the same thing happens by the Finish border between the White Sea up to Murmansk. I think weather and mountains play havoc on supply.

Interesting. Thanks, that may be. I was puzzled because in some turns I had supply up to Russia, and in others... like in this picture, not even Baghdad or Tehran are in supply.

The variabiliy in supply is what is harder to understand.

Baku is a supply source for the Russians not for you.

As the Axis this realistically. Could they maintain such a long supply line at 100% efficiency all the way to Baku? They had troubles maintaining supply To Rostov. This is part of the logistics system. You need to realize how far you can push before you over extend. If you were playing a human player he might let you push yourself into exhaustion then cut you off from behind.

One note that I know is on my board to solve is isolated ports. Like the Baku port. All ports can generate limited supply but Baku should not for the Axis because it is cut off.

So this is something on my list of things to fix in the next real update.

Thanks for your answer. But, why such variability in the supply? One turn it reaches up to Russia, the next one not even half of Iraq & Persia, next one again up to Russia...?

Partisans are messing up your lines in the rear. That's why units have 3 unit supply levels.

Most games players run around willy nilly not worrying about their rear. Can't do that in WarPlan. Gotta protect your rail junctions.
