As the Commonwealth, I controlled both North Africa and Syria when France Surrenders. Vichy North Africa was controlled correctly.

In Syria I retained control of Damascus and the two ports during the axis phase but was kicked out during the next allied phase.

Currently, neither side can enter any Syrian hexes. The War Panel has the status of Axis aligned and surrendered. Neither side has a declare war option. When I hover over the hex it is blank for what nation controls the hex. It is like they lost the controlling attribute and are now out of play.

When did the game start? Before v4c beta patch?

I have not loaded any beta patches. This would be the 1.04 patch as released.

I'll test it myself in the beta patch. I believe I did a modification.
