How the various component of a unit works, besides the firing order?
Like, GUNs fire only if the enemy has tanks? Are FIREARMs better than GUNs or TANKs vs Infantry? Etc.
Or they're all the same - but just have different firing order?

good question!
To add to this, how does carrier strikes combine with multiple carriers for damage?
is it better to use seperated carrier strike fleets, for higher hit chance or higher damage? or better to keep them combined in 1 fleet?
2 seperate fleets get 4 total carrier strikes.

Manual page 86-87
Carriers... it depends on what you want to accomplish and the risk you want to take.

If I go strictly by the manual it's simply a firing order but an artillery point is as good as a firearm point as a gun point against any designated target. It just changes what firest first, and if something is halved or not.

Changes when it fires. You won't really notice much of a difference. These are minor things that would take millions of test battles to see the difference in variation.
