The sound files can also be modified.
Sounds that you find particularly irritating can be deleted or replaced.
The game will play mp3 sound files if you rename them exactly like whats in the
game and change the file extension from .mp3 to .SFX which the game uses.
Windows media player will play the SFX file extensions as well.
Make a backup of the sound folder before you modify.
Below I’ve marked the music files which can be replaced with your own custom music.
Just don’t add too large a file because the game randomly rotates them and if they are too
large the game will often skip them or drop another one out.
I personally like to add my favorite WW2 music which gives the game some context when
I do long orders turns. I turn the music off before I run the turn resolution.
This site has some WW2 music that can be downloaded:
http://6thcorpsmusic.us/
Or you can minimize the site and it will cycle the songs as you play the game.
Of interest is if you open the games news file you can play the Tokyo Rose sound files.
Some of them I’ve never heard in the game but it is interesting what the designers
thought Tokyo Rose would comment on in game.
Also, it is how I learned to pronounce Balikpapan when I was learning the game.
Merry Christmas.
