It's not broken. I'm playing, as are my three opponents.

I can sympathize with the OP. The last official patch is broken IMO. And while it's great Alvaro has a beta version, even with that the game is in a state of flux. So while I myself am happy to keep plugging away. I can understand other players frustrations.

So I hope the OP does try again when things settle down and an official patch that is solid is released.

Funny. I just bought Empires in Arms. Pnzgdr is still fixing bugs in that 15 years later. Let me know when it's fixed.

Known bugs in The Operational Art of War since I got it a few years ago. I play it continually. Let me know when it's fixed.

Love this game but the official patch broke stuff I will wait till they are fixed thank you very much, sorry if that upsets some people but to bad ehh?

Perhaps you can not read? Try reading the threads on the official 1.04 patch, there are now what 4 beta patches to fix what was broken?

Funny that Empire in Arms got mention. I played one game where I was the Austrians, and I littered a bunch of 1 inf corps in front of my main army to slow the French down from taking Vienna. They were forced to stop and attack them and got zero VP's for killing them since it was a limited battle.

My opponent cried foul and after some discussion played the game with the rules as written.

As luck would have it the next game I was the French and he was the Prussians. He exclaimed that he would do to me what I did to him and littered 1 inf corps in front of me. Anticipating this, I had 4 inf/ 1 cav corps so that the battles became real, and I got VP's for killing them....with no risk of loss to myself.

So is a rule truly broken? Or is it just lack of imagination?

I think you'll know when it is "not broken" by watching the threads. But if you are waiting until everyone thinks there are no issues, you will be waiting a long time.

In the meantime, I'll play, enjoy and help improve.

Playing the Soviets with Armour and Mech units that are effectively at 50% defence strength is pretty broken. You want to play with that. Be my guest.

The beta's remedy that bug. But not everyone wants to be a beta tester. I sure don't. But I like the game enough to keep going with the beta's. But it surely tests my patience.

As for EIA, yeah, I wasted my money on that POS. Thanks Matrix.

The Soviet armor bug is the biggest thing keeping me away from the latest official patch, and there's a lot of squirrely things in the beta patch that are keeping me off that.

So I'm happy letting somebody else taking it in the chin for a while before diving back in.

It's true these games are probably never going to be *completely* fixed, but there are different levels of broken, some levels you may be willing to play around, some not, mileage may vary.

Armor bug is fixed in beta.

I will try and push for a patch the 3rd. I think many people are on holiday.

Am playing with the latest Beta patch and IMO the game is fine, don't see any bugs that are 'game killers'.
