enemy unit appears deep behind my lines???

At the beginning of the CWs turn 3, this unit appeared out of nowhere..wtf over?
Glitch? ghost?...on purpose?

It looks like it just moved there. You have a flank hanging open in the desert. You have to expect your enemy to exploit that.

Thank you and yes, it sure did.
I am a newb and still getting used to the game-play etc.. Also, this scenario author seems to taken a lot of time and effort ensuring/formatting to prevent 'gaminess' etc. it surprised me that a very valuable supply unit would go on some mad hussars dash to oblivion.
