No Armament?

Just came to change production in '43 LW campaign of my NJG and realised that every single model of BF110 has no rear guns. The day fighter still has them but not the night fighting chaps.
I know that some installations of the GM-1 boost required the removal of the rear guns (and probably gunner) but not in all these models surely?

strange indeed, all Bf 110 NFs had rear guns. GM-1 made no sense in them. are they modelled with a large aux fuel tank in the rear cockpit?
Or is this still the coding problem with SM gun upgrade which required the gun slot to be free in the old Talonsoft version?

We can look into this. But are we talking about the 110's having the SM (Schräge Musik), or an actual rearward firing gun?

They are missing the rear firing MG 81Z. All variants whether equipped with SM or not are missing these.

All Bf 110 had rear firing guns, old versions with a single MG 15, from the Bf 110G on they had a dual-barrel MG 81Z.
It's possible the Bf 110F had been upgraded to MG 81 instead of the MG 15 but i'm not sure.
Even the SM-equipped Bf 110G had the rear firing MG 81Z.
There were some special equipment options without rear gun but I don't think they were wideley used, an aux fuel or GM-1 tank could be installed in the rear cockpit area.

Game wise, looking at both the G4 and G4/R7 and the SM equipped versions then both standards have a longer endurance and both SM versions a reduced endurance leading me to think either a fuel tank or the SM kit was in the same position. Regardless, all four G versions of the nightfighter are without rear firing guns and this should be a mg 81z installation.
On a nightfighter question though, do old nightfighters that begin with FuG 202 and 212 convert to the SN2 later in the war or do you need units composed of the such equipped fighters (HE 219, G4/R7) to benefit from better radar suites? Will the Ta154 be dogged with inferior radar for its combat career?

Mark,
We will take all of this data discussion up in earnest once we get you going up on the dev forum...[;)]

It would be nice to have some data discussions in the public forum so others may help you with input.

Yes, it can and should continue here, but the playtest and beta development is a little easier for me to track within the dev forum.
