Would a lot of auto-save files from Mwif cause a computer to constantly crash?

What do you mean by crash?

If you mean you are having what appear to be screen freeze ups, there is possibly a small dialogue box stuck behind an "always on top" window (combat windows, and production planning are often involved), which can be sorted out.

My computer will freeze, the screen will go blank, and then I will have to manually start the computer over again. Everything that I was doing is gone. This is not while playing Mwif. I just wonder if the auto-save files do something?

Also, can you do this experiment -

Exit the game, then go to your save game folder - the path should be something like -

C:\Matrix Games\World in Flames\Scenarios\Global War\Saved Games

Make a back up copy, and start deleting saves.

Does windoze gives you a non-delete message because a save (query the one you initially opened on game load) is said to be still open and being used by the game exe?

Highly unlikely maybe unless your disk gets almost completely full. You can check how full it is with Properties or with Administrative Tools in Settings. Also the auto saves overwrite so there should not be a growing number of them.
