There are lots of idiots now, that think that Communist china is the savior of the world as well. History repeats itself.

Its a matter of perspective. If you are the guy who has been unable to make a decent living because the higher-ups in the system are taking it all for themselves, the idea of a redistribution of wealth sounds pretty good - what do you have to lose?

Unfortunately, the people who claim to be there to free the downtrodden also have a hierarchy and almost none of the peasants will be in a good place after the redistribution. And their new state will have all kinds of nasty means of keeping anyone from thinking of another revolution.

But sooner or later, life at the bottom becomes so intolerable that revolution starts again - sometimes violent, sometimes 'soft'. Sooner or later we will all figure out that making sure everyone has at least minimal needs met is in everyone's best interest. If the economic/business sector will not achieve this sustainable economy, the people will expect the government to intervene to make it happen.

There are signs that some of the biggest business tycoons are beginning to rethink employee value. This would be the best path to keeping the entrepreneurial system while bringing along the people who keep it humming.

There are lots of idiots who think China is a communist country. With a clear eye, depending on your point of view it is either over regulated capitalism, under regulated capitalism or just badly regulated capitalism but capitalism it is. I'm a capitalist, it's the best economic system, done right, we've ever come up with. I don't see any saviors of the world, though. We're destroying ourselves and China isn't helping. China is advancing so quickly because of capitalism, but they are like the Borg, if you're on the inside you may not realize what's happening, if you're on the outside things are going to get nasty. Ideology is for ideots.

The people and the economy of China are without a doubt capitalist. Tiny shops filled floor-to-ceiling with every conceivable good, charging for bags {and not out of trying to help the planet}, every square inch of wall space rented out for advertisements.

The government is just as oppressive as ever and trying to maintain control. I don't know if they will be able to maintain the same level of control as they have in the past, though. While there in 2012, I witnessed a group of police knock over a food cart/grill. I can still hear the scream of the owner of the cart as his hand was thrust into the coals. And I remember the brave photographer across the street doing a fashion shoot turning his camera on the police and filming it.

If a people taste freedom, they will want more. If certain individuals taste power, they will want to keep it. The Chinese people are tasting freedom.
