We are up to February.
Everything has happened as normal for the early game.

Axis take Poland, Denmark and Netherlands in the Autumn.
Belgium goes on a clear turn in February.

Allies have taken Ireland, Persia and Iraq.

Losses to date, as expected.
Subs have been lucky, he has been chasing them with Carriers but no hits yet.

We are playing with the recent patch that boosted the UK but looks like there will be no BEF.

Get a CLEAR and the drive into France begins.
4 hexes taken on the Belgian border. 1 on the Maginot line which will at least keep some French units tied down.

Now sit and wait for another CLEAR.

Those cold weather turns just make France that much tougher to hold onto!

Not going to lie, looks like a good start for the Axis but maybe the nefarious British have a cunning plan [:)].

I think this is about the norm for France if the UK don't intervene.
Up to the end of April now and waiting for the weather.

This is all looking very familiar to me, heh. Minus the allied strat. I'm curious to see if the Germans will follow this up with Sea Lion.

If they don't, it is because they deliberately choose not to, not because the UK can stop it.

The game is very close to our game so far, losses similar.
Am not going to play Sealion (unless my opponent leaves an open door), already ruined one game with that. Though I think it would still be on as things stand. Am trying building a few subs to see how that plays out, should at least absorb some UK production for when we turn East.

The push through France continues, take Metz and may get Lille and Paris next turn.

Think that the BEF have to fight in France, this is the wrong strategy if Sea Lion isn't outlawed by houserules. Plus if weather is just that bad for the Allies France doesn't even have time to get a defense line built!

Leaving the defence of France to the French alone is a recipe for disaster IMO. So I agree.

One flipside is you have a strong UK... we have no clue what that means?

Strong UK I don“t think matter that much vs a very strong Barbarossa but that is just my feeling based on my own game with Tyrone.

Would the BEF make much difference here? I am doubting it. I've been on the other end of this hammer Tyrone has perfected, and it will smash it just the same. It might buy an extra turn. Maybe 2. So I can definitely understand the desire to abandon France here. But at the same time, Britain alone really cannot stop a determined Sea Lion as things presently stand. So it is quite the conundrum in the West in the early game.

We'll see how the invasion rules and possible bugs shake out.

France falls without too much difficulty.

My approach would definitely be a strong BEF, even the threat of a few tank units is enough to make Axis play more carefully to avoid having any units killed from no retreat hex. Plus do as much damage with the air war as possible.

First, I would like to know how you got the "Round" icons for the air units?
I haven't found an option setting for that.

Second, thoughts on whether conquering Vichy France (and NA, etc) is a good idea?
What does Axis gain? Does it stretch the Italians to much having to cover all these conquests?
