New install updated to 1.04, then came here and noticed the 1.05 update, and did that.

The menu items don't have any text, just black boxes. (See picture!) Interestingly, the tooltips - the text displayed if you hover the mouse over a menu item do display, albeit not necessarily where they should.

This is on Windows 10 and I now see that I haven't followed the advice elsewhere about getting it to run as an Administrator... but this is an odd thing to need admin rights for.

OK, followed all the compatibility suggestions in the thread 'Windows 10 compatibility testing part 2' and I'm interested to see that what I been getting looks just like the picture in post 12 apart from being black rather than green.

What's actually worked, and isn't in that thread, is to click on Set DirectDraw Software Emulation so it's on and restarted it.

For anyone else, the options are the bottom option of the two main menus. I used the tooltips to get to the right one or you can use the graphics in post 14 in the above thread.

Everyone's machine is a little different it seems. It works fine for me on both my W10 computers with or without the direct draw toggle.
