I received the following email today:

Last Tuesday morning Bill suffered a heart attack and passed away. He left an instruction letter
and one item is to send this email to all on his contact list for this account.
I will be deleting this account soon, another instruction was to wipe this computer clean and
donate it to a worthy cause.

I will miss Bill. I know he grew up around San Diego and that in his youth his family would come up to the Eastern Sierras for fishing and outdoor excursions.
I wish Bill fair winds and following seas.

Really, really horrible news. Bill was a true gentleman, always willing to help out new folks. One of the great members here, and his absence will be felt (it already is). Just awful.

I never interacted with him, but his posts were often helpful to me. Clearly a great loss for the community, and more so for his family. May he rest in peace.

Got this same message this morning. He was on our play-testing team for the new version of Between the Storms. A definite loss for the Forum and myself of a nice, gracious man.
Makes one think about making sure someone we know is prepared to let the Forum know if they are lost or suffer some form of severe set-back in life. How many have we lost and not known about it? Sounds like Bill prepared for the moment. It is a good note for all of us to remember. Looks like he is still helping even after gone.
I'll miss him.
