Road Junction as a target?

Hello,y'all!

I saw something unusual that I'd never seen in the years I've been playing this game. Unfortunately, I didn't think to grab a screen shot.

8/24/43, 1943 Campaign. I autoplanned my recce in Italy for Avalanche targets. I go back and refine them afterward (adjust routing, changing secondary targets, canceling missions to targets with 1-2 old photos, etc).

I had one autoplanned recce mission into northern Italy, that had a secondary target listed as "road junction." The secondary mission path and box was placed in an empty area away from any known target (airfield, urban area, factory, etc).

I went back through the Target List to see if this was a target set added as a patch, or added to Avalanche target set, but didn't locate any new types of targets.

Has anyone seen this before? I'll try and recreate it and grab a screenshot, unless I'm the last player on Earth to know anything about this. [:D]

I have seen road junctions bombed both as the Allies and as the Germans in BTR 43. I am not sure if it actually causes any measurable damage.

Very often new German land formations are first assigned to 'road junction' before moving out on later turns. This could mean there are more than one such location. Doubtful if it is literally more than just a 'point on the map'

I'll look into why the AI would select an RJ. They are part of the route for supply and movement for troops and AA guns but are not supposed to be targetable.

I haven't yet been able to recreate it.

As far as I can tell, the ONLY way you'd be able to target a road junction (for whatever reason) is to have the AI mission planner do it, as it's not a selectable target on the menu, and I've never been able to "mouse over" one to manually select it.
