The PLA-685 Mike [Plavnik] sub will not go to 1250 meters deep as the database viewer says. I am not sure what is wrong? I put one on the map and told it to go deep as possible and it only goes to 2297ft.

What's the depth under the keel at that location?

If you check the performance stats at bottom of the page, you will see it only configured to go to 700M

Yes, but both numbers should match like the rest of the subs. It would be nice if it did go that deep.

Hopefully you will make the sub reach it's max depth.
Thanks

Hopefully you will make the sub reach it's max depth.
Did a little research and found that the Mike was built to dive deeper than other USSR/Russian submarines and reportedly reached a test depth of -1000m in August 1985. However, it sank due to a fire on its first patrol on 07Apr89. The -1250m depth (-2.5mi) is a little unreasonable and it will be updated to a more realistic max operational depth of -800m in the next DB release.

unique for her design and the technological feat, having reached a record depth of 1,020 metres (3,350 feet) in the Norwegian Sea on 4 August 1984
The -1020m seems to be valid since it actually happened. -1250 not so much especially since she was destroyed on her first operational voyage.
Factoid note for purists, I've used the western designation of "her" to refer to the submarine. I believe that USSR/Russia uses the pronoun "him" when referring to their submarines.

Even from a layman's viewpoint, a 'Design depth' doesn't necessarily mean it can operate at that level.

This submarine set a world record for diving depth of 1,027 m. During sea trials, it carried out training launches of torpedoes from a depth of more than 800 meters. Among other things, USET-80 deep-sea torpedoes with a launch depth of 1000 m are in her arsenal.
Operate/Safe Depth - 1000 m
Design Depth - 1250 m
Crush Depth - 1,500 m

No, no, we use the same appeal to submarines (USSR / Russia), “her”, “she”.[;)]
"He" we use in relation to surface ships. "
