I'm playing "Downtown" scenario. I'm not sure if this is particular issue of "Downtown" scenario or not, but I saw something strange.

Image
Those "Weasel"s are not F-5s, they should be F-105G.

Image
"Theif"s are not F-5s, they are F-105D, and that "F-16" is probably a North Vietnamese J-8 or Mig-17.

Image
For some reason A-7A Corsairs are shown as "F-4U"s.

Image
Phantoms look OK

Image
But I can tell this silhouette is not F-105 neither F-5. This is F-100.

Image
All F-105Gs and F-105Ds are named as F-5, but mesh of F-100s are shown. It seems the game is processed based on proper data. However, for some reason, only Tacview is showing strange unit name and model.

Can I solve this by myself? If yes, what should I need to do?

PS) I checked that, in DB3000 model in Tacview is showing proper F-105 model for F-105G. But the name is still shown as F-5. In CWDB, not only the name is F-5, but also the model in Tacview is F-100 for any F-105s.

Hi,

The problem with wrong names being displayed is an issue with Tacview itself, I'll let Virtuoz explain.

We will check the 3D-mesh associations.

Thanks!

Thank you for the detailed feedback.

I think that Tacview does not know these aircraft yet.

I am going to add them to its database. This should be fixed in next week beta update.

I'm glad my suggestion helped. If time is allowed, please check other planes for Cold War DB and for some old planes in DB 3000. My feeling is that this issue wouldn't be limited for this particular Downtown scenario.

One more thing: During downtown scenario, I couldn't see any ground SAM unit icon in Tacview, and I couldn't see SAM's range (red half circle) in Tacview. Is this a issue related with Cold War database? Or is this a tacview issue? Or should I need to turn on some options?
