Screen Scrolling

Suddenly having more free time on my hands, I decided to install this old favorite (version 1.04) on my PC, which runs on Windows 10. Two technical issues that I need to address before I dive in.

1. The screen scrolling speed is veeeeeeery slow. I have adjusted the speed in Preferences to 1.00. But in fact, the actual scrolling speed does need seem to be affected at all no matter what value I enter into the Preferences screen. Not sure if this is a Windows 10 issue or something else. I have seen other threads where people have had the same problem, but no suggested solutions have worked for me.

2. Regarding the 3 Zoom levels, on the most global Zoom level the numbers in the area indicating the total number of combat units in each area no longer are displayed. I can't remember if that was the case when I played the game many many years ago, or if this is a new technical issue. But it would be helpful to be able to see this info even when on the most global view.

Any help appreciated.

Regarding your first issue, set the value below 1 for example 0.5 and test it until you find a good scrolling speed.
For the second one I'll try to check it when I turn on my pc.
Hope it helps.

When I enter a value below 1 in the screen that controls the scrolling speed, it is not accepted and the value remains 1. I wonder if there is a way to edit the files directly to override the Preferences screen.

I have uploaded my wawpref.dat (I think this is the one that contains the settings for the screen scroll speed)
You can download it and place it in the your save folder: ...\Gary Grigsby's World at War A World Divided\dat\save
You have to change the file extension from jpg to .dat and then place in the save folder.
Then change the other values to your own taste leaving the scroll speed, see if works.

Good to know that the number of units does not show up on my most global view, so I won't worry about that.

I can't seem to download the attachment. When I click on it, the filename appears as a photo view, which does not download.

By the way, I very much appreciate your help on this.
