Playing 1.00.05 in the Europe 1940 scenario, I have noticed two types of headquarters on the map.

There is the HQ with Anti-Tank 1940 advancement as below:

There is the HQ with Assault 1940 advancement as below:

But, what is strange is first that the advancement level for Anti-Tank is still at year 1939 in the Advancements screen:

And second, it is impossible to build an HQ with Assault as an advancement level:



Please note that the Production screen is correct there, impossible to build an Anti-Tank 1940 unit...

Thus, two questions:
1. how is it possible to have an Anti-Tank 1940 without the right advancement level?
2. why is it impossible to build an HQ with Assault advancement?

If this is solved in 1.00.06 or if this is design intent, please skip this post.

Linked to your answer, there are some scenario where there is a mix of HQ with Anti-Tank and HQ with Assault. But, there are two scenario where all HQ are Anti-Tank.
So, I am confused about the expected behavior here.

Understood but this is more than one or two. Do you have a script to check this?

Also, do you have a script to check duplicated assignments of General? Just found one.

For the duplicated general, this is in Europe 1944 scenario. Alexander Patch is assigned to USA 7th Army HQ in Ajaccio.

And, Alexander Patch is assigned to USA 5th Army HQ in Salerno.

If my memory is correct, I think this was Mark W. Clark that was in command of USA 5th Army HQ.

Please also note that both HQ (USA 7th Army HQ and USA 5th Army HQ) are with Assault 1939 advancement whereas we are in 1944.

Same thing with the UK 8th Army HQ located North East of the USA 5th Army HQ. It shows Assault 1939.

I think the new column that you just add, in Reports and Statistics, will help us get rid of all the HQ units with Assault instead of Anti-Tank. [:)]

I added the HQ column and saw where the 1944 duplicate general was.

These changes will very likely NOT make it into the next official build March 26. They are currently constructing the build set. I'll try though.
