Learnt about this very old game (1986) by chance a week ago. Did any of you play it? It is a postapocalyptic strategy -RPG game with very tactical battles, where you control a gang driving cars and trucks. There is also a main quest involving some USA government agency and a bunch of scientists. Lots of stats for cars and gang members. You can travel the whole continent coast-to-coast.

I played it back in 1991, while I took a year off to travel the country visiting friends and family after leaving the military. Sometimes I was waiting for my host to get home from work, etc., so I'd hop on and knock out a few turns. Good game. I recall finding a semi I loaded down with crew and battling road gangs.

Seems neither Steam nor GOG ported this game to modern PCs.
I'd buy that for a dollar!

Loved it when it came out. You can still play it in online emulators if you want:

I think it may have been the very first computer game I ever bought. Detailed memories of that time are getting foggy. Played Roadwar, M.U.L.E., and Ultima on my Commodore 64 until the machine burned out from overuse. My ultimate goal in Roadwar was always getting a bus
