Combat losses

I did some testing with units of equal strength to find out the average loss expectation per attack.
With attack set to limited losses the attacker still loses about 25-30% of his force.
The defender mostly has less losses.
I don't call 25-30% losses "limited"
Is there a way to change the overall combat damage?

In designing a scenario, there is a setting to make combat less or more bloody.
BUT. Generally in TOAW, there is a wide range of possible combat results. For a given combat one sets up, I would say it would have to be resolved at least 10 times, preferably more, to see where the bulk of the results land in terms of losses.
Of course, that is also impacted by a bunch of other variables like weather, terrain, stacking, dug-in status, supply ...
If you are designing a scenario, I would recommend setting up a test battle in clear terrain and good weather, with both sides in good supply etc. Run the battle multiple times to see the trend in losses. Then adjust the setting to increase or decrease losses. Run the battle again multiple times on the new setting, and continue this cycle until you get results that approach what you're looking for.
Cheers

You can edit the scenario to adjust the attrition divider to a value that gives the result you desire. Try '10' for a value for instance.
EDIT: Cathar1244 posted just before I did evidently.

Thanks that helped. I moved it up from 10 till 100, so over 10 tactical battles its about 15-20% losses.
"Ignore losses" often has a lower kill rate then "minimize or limit losses"
