Port supply questions

1) I believe the total amount of port supply in Libya is 320. I know that distance and unit type can increase the supply cost but for my question, let’s assume a 1-1 relationship and no Allied interdiction. Do units within 30 hexes draw from any or all of these ports? For example, if there are more than 80 Axis strength points east of Tobruk, would the overage draw supply from the more distant ports? As long as Axis forces are within 30 hexes of all the controlled ports, can 320 strength points be fully supplied in NA? I’m trying to figure out just how large a force can be supported in NA.

2) What is the size of the DAK that most players are able to deploy in NA?

3) Is part of the solution using lots of trucks every turn?

4) Can the Italian fleet defend supply lines if docked in port or do they need to be at sea?

5) Do bomber units need to be set on “naval attack” in order to interdict enemy fleets on the opponents turn? Or is that setting only necessary when on the offensive turn?

#1 Page 51 of the v6 manual has the ranges. The supply system is more complex that most games. So I can't give you a straight answer. I believe in the v6 version when you toggle "S" it might show an "!" on a port. It means this port ran out of supply stockpile. Generally I believe I gave North African ports historical + a little more. It makes taking Crete important for an airbase and even Cyprus.

#2 Can't answer that but you could supplement more units there with supply trucks and coastal fleet supply. It isn't a huge effect though.

#3 It can be. Depends on your goals. Do you want to invest a mountain of production plowing through the UK forces in Africa? Is there an alternate strategy?

#4 They need to be at sea representing escorting the convoy

#5 That setting is only needed to attack them on YOUR turn. They do need to be in support mode though.
