The render resolution is appalling compared to Fog and Caen, it is difficult to distinguish live soldiers from corpses.

Is there a magic incantation or ini setting to remove corpses (as the menu option in previous CC games) ?

There is not an option turn off casualties. Casualties will lie at odd angle with blood on the ground nearby, which can help with picking them out at closer viewing ranges. If you're looking at your own units you can also click on the soldier list to center the camera on a given soldier.

I've always wanted to see the corpses of dead stay on the field if in no-man's land. I guess the realism of that would vary depending on context, but in terms of scavenging it could be useful in more desperate fighting.
