Restored film of Paris late 1890s

This may be of interest to some here. Colourisation, frame-rate correction and AI techniques have been applied. Even though the horseless carriage had been invented, there are none in this footage. It's a bit of a time machine.

Cool stuff. Some observations:
- The van that appears after 30-odd seconds - a portent of things to come [:)]
- There was some serious beard action going on!
- Crossing the road must have been quite hazardous. I bet there were a lot of accidents with horses and people
- I also thought of the odd carriage - but there was some serious traffic (is that the Champs Elysee? Maybe full of tourists?).
- Interesting to see the fire brigade on a mission 1890's stylee

-2`30 For sure it is the Champs Elysees with a look to the Place de l'Etoile.

Well there is probably not now a bigger traffic jam... So older is not always better...
In Paris pedestrians are torned between the patience which is required for waiting a 'geste de politesse ' from drivers which may probably never come , and the gallic bravado defying everything.
