Strike Range

Hey all - very nice game to me.
I want a scenario with real warships. A dreadnought must have an strike range greater than zero.
That's no problem - can edit the Strike Range in the editor - but the destroyer with Strike Range with zero still shoots back over two or more hexes!
How can I prevent units with an strike range of 0 from shooting back over more than one hex?
