I got the impression looking at some older threads that if you conquered Greece before the coup you got Yugoslavia as an Axis ally. Is that correct?

What kind of forces did people use to conquer Greece before the coup? Is that worth trying?

The key to taking Greece is landing in that southern port. I usually take it by paradropping from Italy and landing in the Hill hex north of it, then moving forward a hex to ZOC flip it. That allows me to boat a MTN unit in.

But first you need the Italians in the war...if you playing with the No Italian option, then you have to take the French out first...which will severely tighten your window for attack.

Otherwise you get a couple Tactical bombers to intercept british fleet, and a couple Stukas for helping the Italians attack out of Albania...and you should be able to push south while the Germans take the third hex south of Athens. The British may send a corp to Athens, but without an HQ, it won't be able to hold the city.

If the British naval decides to suicide their navy trying to interdict the port, just bomb it...don't waste your oil/italian navy
