The load/save game features are very basic ... If ever possible, I'd suggest some simple improvements to make them way better:
- Add F5 Quicksave/F9 Quickload hotkeys
- When saving, auto defaulting save file name to "AI or PBEM-scenario-side-Date" (-ex "Europe 39- AI-Axis-September 27,1940" will nicely help finding the save file thereafter
- And pls add datetime stamp of the saves in the load game menu (with optional sort if possible)
- (edit) Autosave at each end of turn, same naming pattern with "Auto-" first

Ok, missed it because it was in the middle of the list, as files are alpha sorted (by datetime desc would be better).
And there's only 1 slot.
Datetime also appear as tooltips when hovering, missed that as well...
