I don't think these two cities should be able to supply Axis units (Bagdhad and Tehran).

I thought Alvaro had explained elsewhere (in response to a qu. from me) that the only supply source for a unit is a supply source in their country of origin. In other words, Tehran can only supply an Iranian unit

I believe that is correct sillyflower. It is only a supply source for the owner.

So when the Axis is attacking the Caucasus from the south, the supply is shipped in from ports?

I seem to have zero supply issues even with a large army in northern Persia. Just trying to understand how it works.

You have only basic supply if you have a huge army there. Which means you only get supply from the ports you control to give normal effectiveness recovery. Beyond that you get very minimal, Food/water. So having 50 corps in Persia does no good. Once you start attacking they exhaust their effectiveness and it doesn't come back easy.

Like say the ports can supply 4 corps. If you have 10 corps only 4 get their full supply. The rest get basic supply which recovers I think 3% effectiveness per turn. A good Russian will place enough units that you will exhaust yourself on them. In my game my opponent overloaded in Libya in 1943 and I have been holding him off quite well with just 4 units which are getting full supplies from the ports.

I think I was the Russian. @sveint - is it our game?

I remember seeing the threat in Persia. So I have placed all the Mechanized and Armored corps I have built. The year is 1942. I had around 10-12 corps if I remember well to counter his 10+ corps (including Armored corps).

I did not felt he has any supply problem at any time.

@sveint, what is your view?

Well I know from a previous post by a player that he had a massive Axis force in Persia and was complaining he wasn't getting supplies.

He can ship 20 guys there and attack but they won't get their effectiveness up and eventually exhaust themselves.

I have 2 games where I attacked from Persia. But I did adapt the size of my forces, maybe 10 corps max?

Thanks for the explanation.

Count the available ports to figure out the supply load. I did add a feature when you click supply of the supply source shows an exclamation mark it means all the stock pile is used.
