I'm thinking of placing and order to get a game computer cobbled together (from old parts) for me from a small company far away. But It can't have a built in CD ROM player - it won't fit in the box. I need that to play the game. Can I buy a an external CD ROM player and plug it into a USB port? Will the game run that way?

These are the specs for the computer I will likely buy:
processor 3.2 Gighz i7 intel chip
RAM 16 GB
video card - at least 4 GB
512 GB SSD
1TB spinning hard drive

I need a new computer to make the game run close to real-time. This should do it, right? [&:]

It would only install from CD (if you are using a physical copy) not run from it.

id be carefull IMO...the timer issue may not be because of the specs of the PC.
im in the midst of the MP timer issue right now...ruins the game really.
