Here is a new one. I can't attack due to a CV in the fleet.

So, I am unselecting the CV and perform the attack. Same problem.

I am obliged to send the CV elsewhere (and unescorted by the way...) to perform my attack.
Is it possible to revise naval stacking UI in general?

I think sveint has also reported another issue. I do not remember it.

That is as designed.
