Tank/Aircraft stats & Production capability

I'm new to the game and I was looking at various stats of tanks and aircraft. The quite a lot of the stats used in the WIR v3.3 game for tanks and aircraft do not match the manual.

There are even types of planes and tanks not even mentioned in the manual but are in the game

e.g. T34 M40 is in the game, but not in the manual. I can only find t34 m76a.

Is there a way of of knowing how much a tank like the t34 M40 costs to produce if it's not in the manual.

Also, the manual says that you cannot change the type of production of a factory to another.

e.g. one from artillery to aircraft.

But can you change the type produced by a factory so that if it produced a heavy tank it can then produce a medium tank or factory that produces a fighter can then produce a bomber instead?

Press Alt-R while in the game. You will get a report file, called something like Ge220641.txt, in your game folder. It will tell how much any item of equipment costs and much other stuff.

You can switch tank factories to any kind of tank you like and aircraft factories are just the same. Just press the key "C" when the cursor is on the city (such as Berlin), then you get a list of all factories in that city and you can click on them to change production.

Factory changing is fun...but potentially limiting.

A) It takes 4 turns before the new unit type is produced ...due to retooling.

B) Having "many" different types....means many small pools...means experience never really increases. When you "upgrade" a combat type unit...it loses some 10 experience points....each time you upgrade.

C) While retooling...nothing but nothing is being produced by that factory. Waiting an extra month before retooling...might get you an even better unit type.

WIR 3.3 allows some degree of change of unit type in the combat unit. In WIR 3.2, a medium tank could only be exchanged for another medium tank. I believe WIR 3.3 relaxed this limitation somewhat...but i have yet to play it and see it happen. Another thread is talking about a bomber being a bomber...never being a fighter...though K62 does mention that the P87D can become a FW190F? if enough PW190Fs in the pool ...sometime in 43?

Potential for automated upgrades is poorly documented. Timing of event as well as what unit type upgrades to what.
