I have started a new series with version 0.99 in the beta testing and this time thought I'd spend much more time on the game mechanics and how things work in a much deeper way. Things like how character preferences, political parties, and your choices all have a much deeper impact on the game. Even the first two videos are just about the nitty-gritty of planet creation.

There are very few games that justify such a forensic approach but Shadow empire is definitely one that does.

Okay.

Not sure what everyone else thought but the first three episodes, which I have just watched, were absolutely outstanding.

In many ways they are a modern day equivalent of reading a full 300 page manual but much easier to follow.

I prefer personally seeing Militia only starts and will play with the epochs and the three branching story narratives switched on but can see that it may have been better to do it the way Das has done for the purpose of the tutorial.

Roll on the next episodes.....hopefully the whole leadership team in the nation won't be all supermen and women like the first two characters....I like seeing a few doofus types too [:)]

Well, I really enjoyed the 3 episodes, Das is really excited and that's fun to watch too! Having watched every Lets play (besides the spanish ones) I still learned some things! Keep it up. The spoiler in the first post with the titles has me especially excited for episode 16!

I finished recording the series yesterday so will time the videos so they are published a few days before the June 4th release. I know there are a lot of people wanting specific content so when I've got them all uploaded (today hopefully) I'll set them to unlisted but add the links here so you can pick and choose videos to watch. For example, episode 30 goes into a lot of detail about logistics trying to deal with specific issues. And episode 34 shows how to solve supply blockages on road networks etc.

Just finished the whole series, really enjoyed them DAS! Also learned a ton, especially supply. Perhaps when the game comes out you can do a supply tutorial? Think a lot of (future) players would like that [:D]


With your explanations it seems that the traffic signs only stops supply going out of the hex, but it is still able to receive from that side. If that is correct some more optimization might be possible by segregating the network more so they don't loop around on it self. Still a good job the last episode in fixing supply to the front.. the SHQ had all green bars in the end!

I'll definitely be making a number of tutorial videos. Supply is still in a state of flux and Vic will be changing the way it works slightly so that the issue you highlighted in your other post shouldn't show up again.
