Why is it so easy for Germany to bring Sweden into the war on the Axis side? I do not believe this is historically correct. Am I wrong?

The short answer; lack of counter diplomacy.

11 axis chits vs:
-12 allied chits with France
-9 allied chits after France but before the USSR joins
-12 allied chits when the USSR joins

So there's a window of opportunity where the axis have a 10% chance per turn to have a successful diplomacy roll. I can't remember Swedish mobilization scripts off the top of my head, but it starts at 20%. Is it a very high chance? I don't think so.

Even if Sweden joins the axis, the MPP gains would have been greater with another minor (e.g. Spain or Turkey), as Sweden already exports iron ore to Germany .

As for historical accuracy, there are worse offenders in this game [:D]

Large and influential parts of Swedish society - including the military and the king himself, who was a big fan of Hitler and his fight against bolshevism - were truely pro-Germany. King Haakon of Norway never forgave the Swedish monarch that he urged Haakon to abdicate, in favour of his grandson, the infant Harald, who then would return to Norway as a puppet for Hitler, but save the dynastical line. Harald was off course the son of king Gustav's niece, crown princess Märtha, married to Olav, the Norwegian crown prince. So I think the game has it well simulated.
