Should I get it, or not?

Read the Steam reviews to judge for yourself. Most negative reviews are due to players wanting a complex micro-manage game which this is not.

There have also been a few recent threads here on the same question. My advice -look at those comments and the AARs. If you like this sort of game, it's an excellent example. If you don't, don't.

If you play and enjoy big war board games then you will like this. Has pretty easy mechanics to get used to but a rich strategic element to keep you busy and interested, like the board game Unconditional Surrender! World War 2 in Europe

reading the manual, it does not appear that you can give your units any orders per say? Just drag them for movement, or attack? Is that correct?

How does this compare to World In Flames? I know it's European theater only but it seems to be in the same genre. Not meant to start an argument, just genuinely curious if anyone has played both. Thanks!

This game is much, much more playable.

but no orders for units except move and attack? well maybe that is not too unusual though. I am use to being able to right click on a unit and have some options.

Yes it is move and attack. No right click that brings up a menu with multiple options.

This game is much more approachable than WiF. I don't mind WiF, but all the rules make it a confusing mess sometimes.

The options are on the advancements, specialties, and uses of different kind of units.

If you want you can micromanage the hell out of this baby. You really have your choice. You can let the AI reinforce you units or decide which ones get priority your self.

Right clicking on a unit brings up all shorts of stuff to do with it.

You can divide corps into divisions or combine them again. You can decide what you defense will be per unit. If the unit is cut off from supply you can supply them by air if you have the ops points. You can increase a unit's capabilities by using the Truck Supply supply points you bought earlier. Keep your fleets at sea longer by using the oilers you bought. Decide whether your air units attack strategic targets or tac air. Do you set your fleets to intercept or save oil that turn and lots more.

A good objective measure of whether this game is any good, is to look at the thread and post counts on the forum before jumping in.
A busy active community is a sign of a good or even great game.
Warplan's forum counts already exceed some games that have been here for a much longer time, that have withered.
The forensic detailed feedback from some beta-bunnies, would have driven lesser developers to despair, but Alvaro, has patiently listened and honed a classic.
