New Veteran mod

Post by Nomada_Firefox »

I started a new mod few weeks ago, first I added some units, later more changes and now I am working in a new campaign in the European theater. My first idea is start by Normandy.

I have started a new campaign with several operations in Europe. Starting by Normandy. I have taken some images.

https://steamuserimages-a.akamaihd.net/ ... 969E472E0/

The Normandy part would use these Operations with these maps. The part from Germans will not follow the same order in some parts as Caen where they will launch a counteroffensive instead of a pure defend. I would like add AB units and of course units from UK, Canadian and more. The maps used will be from TLD with several changes for the game. Clearly a work for the summer but when I have Utah and Omaha, I will launch a first version. If I can convert one map per day, it will be good. Even adding changes with photoshop. [:)]
Utah-->Tare Green
Uncle Red
Omaha-->Dog Green
Dog Red
Easy red
Fox Green
Gold-->Gold Beach
Juno Beach
Sword Beach

Carentan--->St Varieville
St Marie Dumont
Vierville
Carentan
Caen---->Merville Battery
Pegasus Bridge
Colombelles
Caen
---------------------------------------------------
I have uploaded the new version from the mod, now the 0.2. You can find it at my web site, read the file description if you want know how install it.

Thanks to you. With bit of lucky, I will release a first version this week. The begining from the new campaign, 6 maps, 2 operations and several new units and changes in game. Everybody will be able create customized battles with them or if they want, they can edit the mod. Anyway I will continue adding more things, the next step will be the maps from TLD where the airbone troops were deployed.

Tomorrow I will release the first version from this new mod.

Probably I will be able finish St Marie Dumont in the morning and I will add it. Just I finished from cover the original TLD buildings, the new 3D buildings are in place and just it needs a few bocage and trees. [8D]

I started playing it, and so far it is amazing. Especially being able to play as 101st, since that's my old unit :). I really like the urban combat.

There is a funny point with the first part. When I started it, I did not take in consideration how the AB forces were deployed before than the landing in the beaches. By this reason, I made the first operation yesterday. But....probably this operation will get another map as in the TLD. Vierville would be the last map from the 101 operation. Next there will be another operation with the 82 with other maps.

Playing it now. It looks great and the urban fighting is a nice change. Any plans to add more elevation changes to the maps? This is the one feature that adds a great deal of tactics to the base game maps in terms of flanking/advancing under concealment.

Great job again. Looking forward to your additions.

Thanks. I am glad that you like it.

I do not go to add hills where there are not hills.[;)]
