Modify Greece Setup

May WAD, but I think the Greece setup makes it too easy for Italy to conquer her using invasion. This is the second game where this has been how Greece is knocked out quickly. This is the turn of DOW.
I am thinking at a minimum to have a unit in the port of Kalamata to make it a challenge to be in supply.
BTW - on the next turn Italy will surround Athens, so the ground unit forming for Greece can never deploy.

You need to intervene with the British, preferably before the landings.
Greece should fall quickly on its own (against a well planned assault).

Can you be more specific as to what the British should do here, especially before the landing? Are you suggesting they park a fleet off the coast of Greece?

I see easy pickings here for the Royal Navy.
There is a Royal Navy battlegroup in the eastern Med, yes?
Even if Greece falls, it could cost Italy most of the Regia Marina. But if you manage to slip in even a single UK corps into Athens, the Italians are going to have a hard time taking it without German help.

It's a 2 port from what I see (Kalamata).
And if the British fleet is positioned ahead of time to protect against invasions of Greece, Egypt and Palistine are vulnerable.

Fall quickly against Italy? Is that historical?

I think what he means is that no matter who was leading Italy they could not historically have invaded Greece by sea with what appears to be 7 divisions. I haven't played the game enough to know how critical this is, but I assume having Yugoslavia as an ally rather than an enemy will help the Axis.

Italians shouldn't be able to perform such landings In Greece. Look at how they struggled at land in Albanian front, let alone an amphibious operation of that scale.

Let's be clear - not major to the outcome of the game. But tweaks have been made to make Netherlands/Belgium more realistic/challenging and my thinking was one small change to the Greek setup would make this type of more more challenging.

Greece is defendable and can cost the Axis a lot if the Allies are setup to intervene. Which they should be.
