Side Unit Icon Colours

AB uses Blue for player's unit icons in accordance with US/NATO standard with Red for Enemy. OK.

Soviets/WP and now Russia used/use Red for Friendly units and Blue for Enemy units.

I suggest Soviet/WP units should always be Red in AB and US/Nato always Blue.

That would require a new set of icons too, because they don't use the NATO icons. We use the NATO standard.

Not all countries are NATO or WP factions, there are neutrals too.

I disagree.
It is not necessary to use Soviet icons. Though some might like it as an option, all I'm on about is the colour..
Just permanently set Soviet/WP units to Red and NATO units to Blue

Both NATO and Soviet standards were Blue for NATO and Rec for Soviet/WP, so when player plays Soviet side with Blue unit icons, AB is NOT following NATO standard.

b. Implementations shall use the default frame colours defined in this standard to indicate standard identity. If differentiation is needed within a standard identity category, additional colours should be used (i.e., for the frame or colour fill) within that category, but the default colours for the other standard identities should not be changed.
Blue = friendly
Red = hostile
Green = Neutral
Yellow = Unknown

Soviets, Chinese, Yugoslavs, pre-WW1 British used red for friendly but this this game goes beyond NATO vs. Soviet / WP and I see no major benefit in using limited time on implementing hard-coded faction specific colors.
