Crashing when clicking on Next Turn button

Played a couple of trial games to get a handle on game play.
I have been playing a new nation and doing rather well.
However, when I click the Next Turn button the game drops to the main menu (New Game, Load Game, etc.)
It doesn't matter which saved game that I go back to, I can only do one turn and then it crashes back to the main menu.
No error message appears.
Help!
