Beta has expired

Was just sending my latest PBEM to the opponent when there's this text "Beta has Expired". Then crash. Restarting the game it immediately crashes again. Playing a beta version on my W10, I went to my W7 where I have the game and latest patch installed, trying to open the game. Same result: this text, then crash. I can't even get to the menu.
This is extremely odd, since the computers are not linked in any way, have different OS and different versions of the game. It's past midnight in Sweden, so I'm off to bed, but thought it was worth a short note.
Anybody else having this problem?

Yepp. Gets pass the intro with all the companies involved but crashes before the game loads the menues.

All right, then the problem is not exclusively at my end. Maybe a virus affecting some part of the start-up, not being WarPlan-oriented, but triggering something else that WarPlan uses.
Well, off the sleep now.

No problem sending from my computer but the same thing happened to my brother when sending it to me 30mn ago

I got the same message when I uploaded a turn just now.
EDIT: Tried to open a new turn. No crash but it won't let me into the game

I am having the same problem. I just started a single player game after a gap of four hours and I am getting the Beta has expired message and then the game logs off. Any suggestions?

So I tried using a Steam Key to see if the game runs through Steam. No joy. Same problem. Beta has expired. Game crashes. I suspect some dormant code is in need of quick removal.

I have the same problem.
I unistalled the game and deleted the related registry values. I reinstalled the game and the latest update but it did not work; I still get the same message: 'Beta has expired'.
Any suggestions?

If none of the updates is installed (game version 1.00.00) then there is no problem!

Game works normally with update 1.00.06. The problem start with installation of later updates.

Awake again.
For whatever this clue is worth, the crash occurred roughly when going from monday to tuesday, probably at midnight, suggesting that it is somehow related to a date-line. After fiddling with it for 5-10 minutes, I went to my other computer and found that it had the same problem, even though I hadn't used the game there since downloading the last official patch.

I am not going to bring some breaking news to this thread, but here is the exact message I got when trying to launch the game :
"Options file corrupt or old version recreating with defaults
Beta has expired"
Quite frustrated, I un-installed and re-installed the game, worked fine with v1.00.00, then updated to latest official version and failed to launch getting only the "Bata has expired" message.
Tried on a different laptop, only to get the exact same result

Same problem here. Bought the game 5 days ago and got steamkey which i used.
Played yesterday just fine, started today early morning and says Beta is expired and then kicks me out of the game. Doesn't crash, just shuts down because of it.

Success! 8U1 fixed it.
At least on the W7. I will now download that to the W10 as well and try to restart our PBEM game.

I use the steam version....and I when I run the game, I get a pop up message saying Beta Expired, then steam shuts the game off
Version well...it's Steam..it is the most recent version. 1.blah.71

Or maybe you prefer to wait for Alvaro's verdict. I have no idea what differences there are between Steam and Matrix.
