Semi-finished, unofficial scenario editor

I tried to send this via PM, but the inbox is full. I will cut it short.

I have a semi-finished, unofficial scenario editor.

Is it a problem to offer it up if I decide it's ready?

It is a console program that dumps data from the scenario file to XML. I'm working on the part that rebuilds a new scenario file from the XML. I'm not using any guards/validation, so fiddling with the XML incorrectly will cause exceptions.

I'm asking because I assume you have an editor already. Since you didn't post it and didn't mention it, you might not want the capability out there until you want it out.

Mods tend to complicate bug reports despite warnings. Nobody wants an Aurora 4X like meltdown, so I tried to PM first.

Please PM response. Cheers.

Please, no public discussion. I'm just looking for an official answer.

I don´t think this warrants really this drama, don´t you think? It is great news that you managed to compile a tool. So did you receive a response already or is it COSMIC TOP SECRET? [;)]

One wouldn't have thought that some mild modding of an old visual basic game would cause a huge meltdown either, and yet, alas, there's aurora 4x

I would not recommend hacking the save files.

As it is now I don't deem the game ready for modding.

Partly because due to the complexity (and partial hard-coding) i really need to open up only specific parts of the data and provide tools to so in a relatively safe and productive fashion.

Hope to get there but i'd like to focus first on killing all remaining issues and then move to work on extra features.

best wishes,
Vic
