For those who like pre-NATO unit icons, v03 is now available. Seven icons have been redrawn. Quite a few icons have had subtle edits primarily for lettering and the way the “heavy unit” bar obscured a small portion of the icon. Even if you are not a fan of pre-NATO icons, feel free to copy/paste selected icons for your own personal use.

You have two choices and they both involve inserting the files into the Graphics Override folder.

1. Top picture. If you place the files directly into the Graphics Override folder, they will override the standard unit icons for all scenarios. A global change like this may not be appropriate for all scenarios.

2. Lower picture. Within my Graphics Override folder is a sub folder for Directive 21. Placing the new icons in there will make them used only on the Directive 21 scenario. You will need a sub folder for each scenario using the pre-NATO unit icons.

I’m sure you’ve seen plenty of scenarios which have custom graphics folders, so this is just an add-on to what you already have. Suggest you select a test scenario and tryout these icons.
