no option to enter camp and avoid field combat

I don't see the option to avoid field combat by going into camp?

First, I am sorry for the delay in responding!
You should get that choice when an army of yours is attacked in the field. You don't do anything when you are maneuvering your own armies.
This feature is only available at the "normal" level of difficulty or higher.
