Wow, didn't think they made these ….
Going to have to keep an eye on this one …..
is it real PBEM or the server version PBEM++ which many recent games have gone to ?

Play by email or some other method of transferring the saved file, such as Team Viewer & not Slitherine's PBEM++.
Also has 'hotseat'.

I've used OneDrive and Dropbox for PBEM successfully, but unfortunately this game does not allow custom directory paths.
You can manually set the save with a few more clicks wherever.
It does not use a cloud-based, hosted system to share saves or find opponents.
