Replace roads?

In the start of the game I made dirt roads to connect my towns. Now I want to make a rail. Is there a way to erase/replace the dirt road?
Same question applies to dirt roads that I want to delete, because I want to change a big half circle to a direct route.

Rail and roads are not mutually exclusive. You can build rail right alongside your roads.
But if you really want to axe those roads, the beta patch will do it. Just remember, you're gonna need a railhead at the far end to get more than 10% of your points. Also, Logistics points are needed for construction.
Not sure whether rail will provide enough LP to support railhead construction, never really tried. It just might.

In the beta version forum above this forum. Gotta manually load them but easily done.
