posted a bug about a very rare site disappearing, it now happened again with an uncommon site. This time i conquered the hex and it was gone. Never got any artifacts from either of them....

Right you are. There was a turn 0 of zero prod at the scavenge site which caused the code wrongly to think the hex was depleted.
