Do private mines sell their output on the marketplace?
If they do it would ease some of my anxiety about them using up finite resources because I would know they are driving down the price. (I suppose it would also mean that they are effectively selling resources to my future enemies but that is kinda fun so yeah.)

I believe they do. You can look into the zone reports, there should be a line telling that the private sector sold metal or oil to the market. It brings your regime cash thanks to the income tax (if I got the name right), so selling big quantities of an Item on the market can backfire a turn later (since the demand and thus the prices are lower, your private sector can't sell its production, and you do not get the tax's revenue).

You can see what is bought/sold via "Reports" -> "Trade Report"
I never allow them to keep or even get a private mine, unless it is something I do not need (like fuel on a planet of hills and forrets).

Thanks! I'll dig deeper into the reports next time this happens.

Yup. I don't ask for tax and invest heavily in private sector for free, but we are at war so they don't get to keep mines or trucking. Sorry, folks.

Usually private mine keep the metal for creating luxury good at the zone or sell it if they need the money to satisfy others demands.
