Geisirs and old blowers

Post by Sieppo »

I'm having huge problems and variability with getting energy early in the game via geysers that clearly are "connected" into my SHQ. I mean I have had multiple and no energy is shown to be delivered from the zones. Any reasonable explanation? They should not require any logistic points.

I believe you are indeed correct.
What does the Energy production tool tip show when you mouse over it in the zone's Items tab or the Assets Management screen?

Hovering shows the problem of no energy being delivered. Had not checked other info about it.

The other problem I have is even if I get some energy surplus on some turn, it is not delivered to my GR units sitting in my capital.

Hm, you should post some pictures. I've never had issues with Geysers and energy production in the past. Might be a bug.

EDIT: Are you sure that your zone with the Geyser has your SHQ set as its SHQ? If its in conquered territory, you have to manually set the SHQ, and set the zone as regular instead of unincorporated.

Any reasonable explanation?

Maybe the energy is being used locally? Do the zones have power-consuming assets?

What does your Zne Inventory say?
Income.
Consumption.
In, out, storage kept and given to SHQ.
Are you at the storage cap?

Ideally give us a image.

I do not need to manually set the SHQ on my conquests.

I just lucked into a Geysir. It worked.

So if the even is a bug, it is already fixed.

I'm sure its's fine or at least fixed. Just wondered why I'm not seeing the amount of energy collected from the zones as should be. If I have two geysers, I should see 200 collected when they are connected. I'm seeing random figures or nothing at all. Have to dive deeper into the reports. My first though was it was going into usage as many assets use energy. When I captured some solar panels, I saw the right addition.

First, look at the Zones those Geysirs are assigned to. Their zone inventory, whole Energy line.

Then look if hte SHQ is just not storing more, because it reached capacity. Natural Power storage capacity is pretty much non-existant.

Where on earth do I find zone inventories? In stats I can only see national inventory stats and nothing found in inventories.

That^^

Click into a zone.
Items Tab.
That is the zone inventory, with all production, consumption, storage and transfer to/from the SHQ.
It is no wonder you could not debug it, if you lacked that information!

Haaahahaaa NEVER used that before :D! Silly me but I just did not need it so far. Have to keep an eye on. I'm still quite sure it did not work as intended before but now its ok. I had a GR Remulus sitting tens of turns on this zone with 3-5 geysers. Maybe the capital was hogging all the energy BUT when I looked at the pop up window above, it did not show any delivered from the zones, as it is now.

EDIT: Like I said before, this should NOT be a problem since energy does not use logistics.

Zone Assets do not use the logistics system. As long as they have enouhg Logistics passing through their hex, they work. All Interaction is with the zone Inventory.

Your issues in in total balance:
Retreived from Zones (for next turn): 566
Send to zones (for this turn): 462

That means you get 261 from some other place(s).

"EDIT: Like I said before, this should NOT be a problem since energy does not use logistics."
It afaik still requires at least 1 Logistics points between source and target, to "proove Delivery is possible".
And it may work like a Asset, where passing logistics acts like a Cap, without being consumed.

Aren't we talking about Hex Perks here?
As far as I know they don't require to be connected by road, and their production just magically ends up in the zone's inventory.

A production of 500 units per turn seems indicative that there are at least some geysers « connected » to this zone. With maybe 100 coming from a Liquid Energy reactor. I was wondering if your issues were stemming from the fact that only 305 units get sent to the SHQ, but since you said your energy consuming unit was sitting still for several turns, I'm somewhat at a loss as to why there was an apparent shortage.

Encouraged by the fact that I now have some energy flowing in I moved the Romulus to the front but still not loading anything..

Yup. Sent to units 0.
What do the Romulus' Supply stats look like? (The Oil Drum button under the unit's tab.)

Thats the one I've been eyeing all the time. Seems like there is some energy moving now after a couple of turns!
